The trio will be a boon to the Heat's presenting sponsor, travel services company Assist-Card. It has its U.S. headquarters in Miami's Brickell Avenue business district.
Assist-Card Senior Director Jason Schreier said the Heat wasn't excactly at the top of its game when the company signed a five-year deal before last season.
"Obviously we are extremely excited," he said Thursday morning. "When we signed on with the Heat, there were a lot of business reasons on our end that made a lot of sense. When you have someone at the top of the organization like Pat Riley, it really gives you a lot of faith in the team and the forward thinking that his mind has."
An additional allure is that the Heat is a strong international brand, especially in Latin America, and Wade is a globally popular star, even in nations like China, Schreier said. Assist-Card which is active in more than 100 countries, helps customers if they get sick, injured or need assistance such as restaurant reservations, visa issues or translation services while traveling in foreign countries.
The deal with the Heat came as the company started marketing its services in the U.S. for the first time.
Now, when fans come to Heat games they can see Assist-Card's name on the 3,500-square-foot full color MiamiMediaMesh on the exterior of the arena overlooking Biscayne Boulevard, encounter a branded video wall on the 100 concourse level and see the name pop up on rotating LCD displays and scorecard tables inside the arena bowl.
Schreier declined to discuss the cost of the sponsorship, but joked that it won't be as much as Wade's contract.
